I have the trade extension package on my ship, which, if I understand it, should allow me to trade at a station without actually docking if I am in the same sector. But it doesn't seem to work.

trade extension :: X3: Terran Conflict General Discussions

You can't physically trade with a station without having a ship docked there with the exception of shipyards. In CDR Dave's video walkthrough, ch VI, he does precisely the remote access I noted above without docking. Hm, I'd have to go back and watch it to see what you mean.

He's pretty spot on about things. So I just watched Dave's part 6 tutorial and I'm not sure which part you're referring to. If you mean the very beginning when he buys the ships, it's a mission he accepts, which you can do as long as you are within 25km of the station offering the mission. You can remotely access and buy without docking if you're in the same sector. Doesn't work with other types of stations. Elleron View Profile View Posts. It doesn't work because there's no place to put the wares you bought at a factory.

However, if you ordered a ship you aren't flying to the station you could trade remotely.

When the extension is installed in the ship you're piloting you can press 'd' to trade with any ship you own that's docked at any station anywhere. Placing a satellite in the sector will allow you to shop at shipyards remotely. Suppose you own a freighter docked at a solar power plant, the trade extension allows you to buy energy cells with that ship regardless of your own location.

Pressing 'd' while selcting the ship on the property menu. Conversely, if you then order it to dock at a chip plant you can sell the energy cells remotely. Start a New Discussion.
